83rd Academy (Oscar) Award - Award Details and Nominees


The 83rd Academy Awards given by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be announced on 27th February 2011 which will take place at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre. India's music composer A R Rahman is also nominated for the Academy award for his music in '127 hours'.

The whole film industry and the film fans are eagerly waiting for the winners of the 83rd Academy Awards (Oscar Awards) . Hundreds of millions of the film fans are waiting to admire the best artists in the filmmaking. Nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards were announced on January 25. These Nominees are of the films which were made in the previous year, 2010. The Academy's members vote for the best artists and professionals in film industry. They are elected by voting using secret ballots. The envelops will be opened on live television to announce the winners. Till that time the Academy keeps it very secret.


The Academy gives awards for almost 25 categories and they have nominated at least five nominees for each category. The winners will be announced and the Oscar Award will be given on 27th February. The hosts of the 2011 Oscar awards ceremony are James Franco and Anne Hathway. India's music composer A R Rahman will also perform during the ceremony. He will perform If I Rise from the film 127 Hours, for which he has been nominated for the 2011 Oscar. He has been nominated for 2 categories. One in Music (Original Score) category and the other one is Music (Original Song) long with Lyric by Dido and Rollo Armstrong.
