The world famous Guruvayoorappan -Sri Krishna- Temple is state in Guruvayoor in Trichur District of Kerala.



 

Here are the major festivals at Guruvayur Temple of the year 2011. The world famous Sri Krishna Temple, also known as Bhooloka Vaikuntam is situated at Guruvayur, Thrissur– the cultural capital of Kerala - Dst , India. The temple is dedicated to Guruvayrappan -the deity of Kerala-, an incarnation of Lord Sree Krishna.

Guruvayur Temple Festivals (major events) of 2011 Dates Calendar:

February 2011
16th to 25th February 2011: The 10 days festival started with Kodiyettam and Aanayottam and ended with Aaraattu - 10th Day of Festival – 25th February 2011.


March 2011
2nd and 3rd of March Mahashivaratri Festival was observed.
9-3-2011: Poonthanam (in honour of the devotee of the lord) day was observed.

April 2011
15-4-2011: The Vishu Festival. Devotees will be allowed to see the Vishu Kani.

July 2011
30-7-2011: Kariotta Vavu

August 2011
21-8-2011: Ashtami Rohini (Srikrishna Jayanthi).

September 2011
1-9-2011: Ganesha Chathurthi (Vinayaka Chathurthi) fall s on.
8-9-2011: Onnam onam (1st Onam) – Uthrada Kazcha kula vaippu (exhibition of Nenthra Vazha pazhakkula)
9-9-2011: Thiruvonam festival.

October 2011
4-10- 2011: Vidyarambam – Pooja vaippu
5-10- 2011: Maharani Pooja.
6-10- 2011: Vijaya Dasami
26-10-2011: Deepawali Festival

December 2011
6-12-2011: Guruvayur Ekadashi
14-12-2011: Narayaneeyam day
21-12-2011: Kuchela Day (in honour of Lord Krishna's close friend)
27-12-2011: Kalabhattam (abhishekam by kalabham-sandal paste)
