Papaya is a fruit which also have its own nutritive value.Papaya is really helpful in digestion by the breaking down the proteins in our body.It is also a good source of vitamin C,A,E.It is also rich in fibers.lets check out a pickle using raw papaya.

PAPAYA PICKLE



INGREDIENTS



1. Raw papaya -(small cut pieces)-1/2 kg
2. Gingili oil (nallenna) -2000 g
3. Mustard seeds (kaduku) -1 tsp
4. Ginger -50g
5. Garlic pods -2 nos
6. Red chilly powder -5 tsp
7. Turmeric powder -1 tsp
8. Asafetida (kayam) -1/2 tsp
9. Fenugreek (uluva) -(roasted &powdered)-1/2 tsp
10. Vinegar -1/2 cup
11. Salt -50g


METHOD



Add salt to papaya pieces and keep it in sun for 2 hours. Now heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Then add chopped ginger-garlic and sauté for sometime. Then add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, asafetida, fenugreek powder and put off the flame. Then add the papaya pieces to this masala with vinegar and store it in an air-tight container. Can be used after 1 week.
