Vishukani arrangements were kept ready at the puja room one day prior to the festival and on the day of Vishu festival where they will follow the tradition to wake up early and go to puja room with their eyes closed to see the Vishukanni as the first thing of the day. This is known as Vishu kani kanal which is the famous tradition of Kerala People. They believe that the prosperity of the year depends on the first thing that they view on the early morning after opening their eyes.

Vishu Kaineetam is the custom on which the elders of the family will give some sorts of gifts to their family members and the kids in the family as the elders believe that this gift-giving tradition on Vishu Malayalam new year festival will bring their children blessed with health, wealth and prosperity to them.

After Vishukani Kanal they used to have a ritual bath and visit nearby temples wearing new clothes. On this day they will listen to'Vishubhalam' the Vishu 2011 Predictions to know about the prospects of the year to the country and also they will look for the predictions for themselves for the coming year.
