G Karthikeyan is to be the congress candidate for the Speaker of Kerala Assembly 2011. The final decision was taken in the UDF meeting 30th May today evening. From the beginning of the formation of the Oommen Chandy led UDF ministry was facing a tough pressurization from all the alies parties. Three major posts like speaker,deputy speaker and parliamentary affairs were not decided yet even the 20 member ministry took office last week.

These three posts were really a headache for the congress led udf coalition as the leadership had to go through a tough time ever faced. Congress was the frontrunner's to take the major post of the speaker, where the Kerala Congress(M)also had an eye on the key post. Any way if there is no u turn in the decision G. Karthikeyan will be the next speaker of kerala legislative assembly 2011.
