This crowd pleasing,easy to make apple cobbler will become your favorite dessert once you try it. You can serve it hot right out of the oven or add a scope of vanilla ice cream. Cobblers can be made with peach, blueberry or blackberry. Cobblers usually come in single fruit verity and is named after that fruit. The fruit can also be from a can, if fresh fruit is not available. If cooking for diabetics, you can either omit the sugar all together or use sugar substitute such as splenda or equal

Apple cobbler



Ingredients:
4 cups apple, peeled and sliced
2 cups sugar, divided
Half cup water
1 cup butter
11/2 cups all purpose flour
11/2 cups milk
Pinch of ground cinnamon (optional)

Method:
In a saucepan combine apple, 1 cup sugar and water, mix well. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from stove.

Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

In a 3 quart baking dish melt the butter.

Mix remaining one cup sugar, flour and milk(Add slowly to prevent clumping) Pour mixture over melted butter, do not stir or mix. Slowly spoon fruit on top of flour mixture. Gently pour syrup from fruit on top of fruit. Sprinkle cinnamon on top, if using. Bake for 40-45 minutes.Batter will rise to top during baking. Remove from oven and serve hot, by itself or top with vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
Any left over can be refrigerated for four to five days. Left over can be served cold or hot. Cobblers always taste better hot.
