gfhgfhThe Kochi International Airport is also known as the Nedumbassery Airport which is located in Kochi, India. This is one of the busiest & largest airports of our Kerala state. The security of this International airport is handled by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security through the CISF. The important feature of this Kochi International Airport is that it is the first airport in India to be developed under a PPP model. PPP means public-private partnership. This airport is a base for operating Jet Airways, JetLite, Spice Jet, Kingfisher Airlines, Air India, GoAir, Indigo, Air India Express etc. In the wake of reports that terrorists were trying to target sensitive installations that include airports in our country during the Independence Day celebrations on 15 August 2011, there will be tight security at the Kochi International Airport. So the entry of visitors to this airport will be banned from 4 August 2011 to 20 August 2011. As a part of this security, vehicles coming to the airport, passengers & their belongings will be checked thoroughly. At the point of entry, departmental agencies, CIAL & Airlines staffs will be checked. Also note that as a part of the secondary check all airlines will be introducing a ladder point frisking. There will be CCTV's operating round the clock with its cameras, dog squads, defuse squads & bomb detection squads to check the security of the Kochi International Airport.
