Sainik School Admission 2012 - Complete Information

Sainik School admissions for 2012- 2013 academic year are opens. In Kerala Sainik school is at Kazhakoottam in Thiruvananthapuram district. Admission in Sainik schools is only to Class 6 and Class 9 for boys only.

Total Number of Vacancies

Class VI : 65

Class IX : 06

Age limits for the admission to class VI:-

Boys having age between ten and eleven(Born not before 02 Jul 2001 and not after 01 Jul 2002).

Age limits for the admission to class IX:-

Boys having age between thirteen and fourteen (Born not before 02 Jul 1998 and not after 01 Jul 1999 and should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school.

The written test will be held on the 8th January 2012.

Syllabus of Entrance Examination

Class VI:

Mathematical Knowledge Test and Language Ability Test.

Intelligence Test.
The test can be taken in English or Hindi or Malayalam.

Class IX:

Mathematics and Science.

English and Social Studies.
The test can be taken in English or Hindi or Malayalam for class VI. The question papers for class IX will be in English only.
Interview and Medical Test : The boys who qualify in the written test will be required to appear at a later date before the Selection Board for an Interview and Medical Test .Further details will be announced later.

Centers of Written Test and Interviews

Written test will be at:-

i. All Sainik Schools in India
ii. In Kerala State, Candidates can take the test at any of the following centers provided at least 20 candidates appear from that centre: - Kazhakoottam Sainik School, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kavarathi (Lakshadeep).

The prospectus and application form is available from 15 Oct 2011 through a Demand Draft payable at Trivandrum drawn in favour of "Principal, Sainik School Kazhakootam" along with a request letter.

On receipt of request letter and draft the Prospectus along with application form & model Question paper will be sent by Registered post. The application form can also be purchase directly from the school office or downloaded from the school website www.sainikschooltvm.org from15 Oct 2011. Application forms downloaded from the website are to be submitted duly filled to the office along with registration fee. On receipt of filled application forms, Prospectus and Model question papers will be dispatched to the applicant.
