Vijay's Velayutham released today in theatres all over the world. The movie is screening in around 85 theatres in Kerala. A huge crowd of Vijay fans was seen around all Velayutham releasing theatres in Kerala. Vijay is playing the title role Velayudham. Genelia D'Souza, Hansika Motwani, Saranya Mohan and Santhanam are playing prominent roles in this movie. Velayutham" is an inspiration from the Telugu film "Azad" which had Nagarjuna and Soundarya in the lead roles. Velayutham is a mega hit in Kerala. Vijay was welcomed with a large crowd at Kochi when he had come for the trailer release in Kochi. Super star Vijay is appearing as the theme Character, Velayudham in the movie. Vijay as Velu lives in a small village in Tamil Nadu with his family. Sarayanya Mohan as Kaveri is appearing as Velu's sister. Their mother is a widow. Hansikha as Vaidhiyalakshmi is appearing as Velu's fiancée. Valu requires some money for his sisters marriage. So he goes to Chennai to get some that he had put in one private chit fund company. Genelia is a journalist in Chennai. Abhimanyu singh is doing the villain role in the movie. He is involved in many illegal activities in Chennai. He is a chota don of Chennai and works for underworld kings. Genelia is a strong reporter with a lot of courage. But she has been harassed by the villain a lot of time. She wants some one to fight against them. She comes across a lot of illegal activities by the villain. At last she creates a fictional character called Velayudham. A bomb blast takes place in Chennai when Vijay reaches there. But he defuses many bombs. This makes the common people to think that Valu is Velayutham. Genelia meets Velu and tell him regarding the fictional character Velayutham. But he refuses to play that role. But later he comes to know that he has been cheated by the chit company and more over that company is run by the Villain. This makes him to play as Velayuthan. Then comes the exciting scenes of the movie. And rest of the film speaks about how Vijay takes over villain and his gang.
All of a sudden, there is another love angle wherein Genelia gets interested in Vijay and which makes Hansika Motwani get jealous and to an extent the audience begin thinking on how is this love triangle going to end. But, the suspense doesn't stay for long as the real pair gets known much before the climax.
The rocking performance from Vijay will definitely shut the unethical comments from anti-Vijay fans. According to Vijay fans, this the most valuable gift for them during this Diwali celebration. They don't have any more word to praise their Mega Star. All together it is a super duper movie from Vijay and team. The stunt scenes are superb. But it cannot match with the actions in Ra One. But both are classied on different plateform. The producer has spent Rs 45 crore for the making of this film.
