Veteran director Kamal and actor Jayaram are joining their hands again after a long gap of 12 years. Kamal's Jayaram movie Swapna Sanchari is all set to hit the theatres. It will be interesting to see how it will compete with another Jayaram film 'Nayika' which is also getting released soon. Before Swapna Sanchari, the last time Kamal and Jayaram worked together was in the 1998 film Kaikkudanna Nilavu which was a moderate success. That also had Dileep in the cast. Swapnasanchari is aptly titled as it tells the story of a man who is searching for a life in his dreams. The film stars Samvrutha Sunil in the female lead.

Story

Jayaram plays the protagonist Ajayachandran Nair, a former peon who immigrates to the Gulf in search of a better job. There he gets a good job and accumulates wealth. After years, he returns to Kerala for a vacation. Ajayachandran get filled with pride and seeks for some reputation among the locals. He spends his wealth without limits to gain social acceptance and to be a cynosure. But all these deeds make his father Achuthan Nair (Innocent) unhappy. He does not get impressed and continues to live in a small house against Ajayachandran's wishes. Ajayachandran's wife Rashmi, a humble young woman, also becomes upset over the current lifestyle of him. Samvrutha portrays Rashmi. All of a sudden, the things get changed. Ajayan's plans for life begin to go wrong. An incident overturns his life and push him into troubles. Ajayan's struggle to get rid of it forms the rest of the story. The film has an ensemble cast including Harishree Ashokan, Manikandan, Jagathy Sreekumar, Innocent, Biju Menon, Salimkumar and Kripa. It's script is penned by K Girish Kumar, who was also the scenarist for Kamal's last film 'Gaddama', that won critical acclaim. Girish was also the scriptwriter of 'Veruthe Oru Bharya' that gave Jayaram a breather after a series of flops. So the family audience will have a good expectation of the film since their favourites are uniting. The film was mainly shot in Thodupuzha. It's produced by Thankachan Emmanuel under the banner of Trueline Cinema after the Sathyan Anthikkadu film 'Katha Thudarunnu'.
