Laxmi Anand crowned Miss South India 2011

Laxmi Anand of Karnataka Won the Hairomax Miss South India 2011 title. This mega pageant was conducted at Gokulam Inn at Kochi. A total of 16 contestants shortlisted from Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andra Pradesh walked the ramp to win the title. All participants came up with their best performance and It was a difficult situation for the judges to name the title winner. After the completion of all rounds, Lakshmi Anand of Karnataka crowned the Hairomax Miss South India 2011 title. Elizabeth Thadikaran of Kerala won the 1st Runner up title and Yamini Chand won the second Runner up title.

The winners were decided by a expert panel of judges including Miss World Runner Up Parvathy Omanakuttan, Famous south India actor Sreekanth, famous model and actress Richa Pannai, Miss Queen of India, Pooja Bhamrah and famous NRI fashion Designer, Sajimon Parayil. It created a great difficult for the panel to judge the winner. Elizebath Thadikaran produced a tight competition for Anand Laxmi. But everything turned upside in a single answer during the question hour. Laxmi Anand's bright answer to one of the questions from the judges 'what sets the Indian women apart from their western counterparts?' enabled her to win this mega title. She said that culture defines the persona of an Indian woman, and that the Indian women are traditionally modern and that their feet are always firmly on the ground. Hairomax Miss South India title winner win get a gold plated crown and one lakh ruppe. The first runner Up and second runner Up will be awarded with 50,000 and 25,000 worth home appliances respectively sponsored by Gopu Nandilath group.



16 candidates, four each from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andra Pradesh got shortlisted for the grand finale event. They were Elizabeth Thadikaran, Athira Ajith, Aswini Mathew, Thinkal Bhale, Yamini Chander, Kruthika Ravi, Neha, Abhinaya, Ashna Misra, Kanupriya, Palak Desai, Varsha Reddy, Laxmi Anand, Neha Ramesh, Reema Sequeira and Ranjitha.D.P.

Laxmi Anand, Hairomax Miss South India 2011 tile winner is a computer graduate from Mahipal University. She had put a great effort in her life to bring up her career in modelling. Aishwarya Rai's Miss World title made her to pursue career in glamour. After this title, she is planning to participate in Miss Queen of India which is scheduled in March 2012.
