The 9th Edition of the Miss South India 2011 was held at Cochin Gokulam Inn on 5th November 2011. Miss South is promoted by Pegasus and sponsored by Hairomax to bring forward bold beauty queens to enhance their strengths and overcome their weakness. The grooming stages of the Miss South India contest started from November 1st at P J Princess, Vypeen, Cochin. Yoga, meditation, personality development, catwalk, beauty tips, Photo shoot, Interaction and Talent search were included in the grooming section. 16 contestants walked the ramp on the grand finale to secure this mega title. The support given by the spectators helped the contestants to come up with their best performance. The grand finale lasted for four hours and Cultural extravaganzas were also included for the grand finale. Laxmi Ananad of Karnataka crowned the Miss South India 2011 title while Elizabeth Thadikaran of Kerala and Yamini C of Tamilnadu secured First Runner up and Second Runner Up respectively.

16 candidates, four each from Kerala, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andra Pradesh got shortlisted for the grand finale event. They were Elizabeth Thadikaran, Athira Ajith, Aswini Mathew, Thinkal Bhale, Yamini Chander, Kruthika Ravi, Neha, Abhinaya, Ashna Misra, Kanupriya, Palak Desai, Varsha Reddy, Laxmi Anand, Neha Ramesh, Reema Sequeira and Ranjitha.D.P.

The contestants were judged by an expert panel including Miss World first runner up Parvathy Omanakuttan, Tamil Actor Sreekanth, Actress Richa Pannai, Miss Queen of India Pooja Bhamrah, Fashion designer Sajimon Parayil and Toshma Biju. The winners were named based on the four rounds which includes Saree Round, Linen Design Wear, Gown, Black and Black rounds. The title winner Laxmi Anand received Rs 100000 along with the gold plated crown. The first runner Up and second runner Up received Rs 50,000 and 25,000 worth home appliances respectively sponsored by Gopu Nandilath group.
