After the not-so-good performance of his recent movies, veteran Malayalam director Sibi Malayil is back to action. This time he is coming with another musical suspense thriller named Unnam (The Aim). The tagline of the film reads as 'Life is about an aim, here it is too high..'. The film stars the new trend hero Asif Ali in lead role. The director, best known for his tearjerking melodramas and fine musicals seems to have adopted Asif Ali. This is Sibi Malayil's third film in a row with Asif in lead. The first two were Apoorvaragam and Violin which were not really crowd pullers, Apoorvaragam got acclaimed though. Rima Kallingal appears as the female lead in the film. The film's another feature is Prashant Narayanan, the bollywood actor who became sensational through the hit Murder 2 is also playing a pivotal character in 'Unnam'. The film was in news for a while when a controversy arised. On october 2nd Director Sibi Malayil complained to FEFKA Rima Kallingal left the shooting field with out asking his permission. Later it was revealed that it was because of a misunderstanding due to the mistake of the production manager.Crew

The movie tells the story of a gang of people who wants to be rich instantaneously. The ways they concieve to earn money and its results form the story. Lal portrays the role of Sunny, a former gangster who have got strong connections with the Mumbai underworld. Nedumudi Venu portrays Murukan the right hand of Sunny. Prashanth Narayanan appears as Tomy Eappen, the son of a friend of Sunny. Asif Ali comes in the role of a street singer named Aloshy. Shwetha Menon appears as Serena. Serena is living with Murukan after a brief unsuccesful marriage life. Rima Kallingal plays the character of Jennifer, the wife of Tomy. Sreenivasan, KPAC Lalitha and Noushi are also included in the cast. 'Unnam' is produced by David Kachipally in the banner of Kuniyil Productions. The primary Shooting locations were Kochi and Chalakudy. The Stills are handled by Sinat Savier. Unnam is expected to hit the theatres on 18th December as a Christmas release.
