Three Malayalam films have been selected into the Mumbai International Film Festival(MIFF) 2012. Silent Colours by MB Padmakumar, Choodu (The Heat) by Sajan Pazhoor and Music of the Broom by TA Sajin are the films representing Malayalam. Read more details below.

Three Malayalam films have been selected into the Mumbai International Film Festival 2012. One of the most popular film festivals of the country, it is the 12th edition of it. 'Silent Colours' directed by MB Padmakumar, 'Choodu' (The Heat) by Sajan Pazhoor and 'Music of the Broom' directed by TA Sajin are the films representing Malayalam in the fest. The films will be screened in the 'Fiction' category. Earlier, 8 Malayalam films had been featured in the recently concluded 42th International Film Festival of India.
Silent Colours is a film that portrays a beautiful relationship between a blind man and a child. The man see the world through the eyes of the child. The sight of the child is the vision of him.
Choodu is a short film. It narrates the process of the transformation of heat of the vices to fear and finally to sweat. The film had been screened in the competition section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), India's biggest film festival, that was concluded in Goa last month. Music of the Broom tells the story of a girl and her emotional attachment with a broom. It has won awards in several short film festivals.
The Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) is the biggest and most popular film festival in India dedicated to Documentaries, Short and Animation Films. The fest is held in every two years at National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), and organised by the 'Film Division' of Central Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The film fest was founded in 1990. The edition of this year commences on 3rd and will last to 9th of February. The films will be screened in Fiction, Documentary and Animation categories. The best film in each category will be awarded Rs. 5 lakhs and a Golden Conch. Apart from competition section, there will be Homage, Retrospective and Special Packages as well.
