Casanovva Movie Review

Mohanlala's highly hyped stylish "Casanova",directed by Roshan Andrews is all style and no substance. It is the third film of roshan Andrews with Mohanlal after Udayananu Tharam and Evidam Swargamanu. This film promised to be the most stylish film in Malayalam film industry. But sadly, director Roshan Andrews clearly lacks the skills required to turn that idea into an engaging film. The film lacked something that was necessary for a hit. The movie was a disappointment. It is the most worse movie of Roshan Andrews in his career and avery bad script by bobby and sanjay.

The film is all about a flower merchant casanova's revenge. The story starts with 4 men who are robbers. They plan to steal golds from a marriage function in which Casanova is the chief guest. But the marriage function is postponed to another date. So the plan is broken down. The suspence of the story reveals after second half. Casanova wanted to kill them because his lover(Shriya saran) was killed by the 4 men. Finally Casanova caught them and killed. There are shades of "Gajini"tamil film starred by Surya.

Story is typically an one line story with no such twists and turns. First half of the film was ok with superb interval scenes. But the second half became very dragging with a bad climax. There were so many unnecessary dialogs and scenes with no match with the story.

Technically "Casanova" is a class apart from the usual Malayalam movies. Editing and cinematography were brilliant. The film is Stylishly crafted,as was expected by all of us. Mohanlal and Shriya Saran though good and excellently shot, something lacked that was necessary for a hit. Music and Background music is good. Mohanlal's screen presence make Casanova lively.

Verdict
Casanova is not an unwatchable movie. For the locations and look,it can be seen. You can watch it only because it's a new format but for most parts prepare to be seriously bored.

this is a new change in malayalam industry. If story is not that strong technology can do it. Casanova is a welcome change

Sorry to admit but the movie dissapointed me to the core....Yes i admit the movie started off well though I think the start was similar to Dhoom (and even the action sequence on the container was a clear lift from Dhoom 2). I beleive its high time Mohan Lal realise to do roles that fits his age. A role such as this requires a charming physique to attract women and i guess a better build youngster would have been a better fit. Riyaz Khan's wardrobe was exquisite however they should have had better wardrobe for Mohan Lal specially with a physique such as that. Then again 2nd Half the film was such a lag that bored everybody. The booing clearly supported the fact that audience wasn't enjoying it. Absolutely no chemistry between Shreya and Lal which a major blow as the revenge was supposed to be based on this. Again such an oridinary expected climax nailed the last nail on the coffin for the much awaited 'Casinnova'. Really sad the names of 'Roshan Andrews', 'Sanjay Bobby' are associated with such a disaster.
