M G University Youth Festival 2012 at Thiruvalla from February 29 to March 4


Mahatma Gandhi University Youth Festival 2012 will be held at Thiruvalla from February 29 to March 4. The 5 day youth festival titled as ‘Sargodayam-2012’ organised under the auspicious of the University Union would mark the biggest annual fest with the participation of around 7,000 students representing from 350 colleges affiliated to the university. Its after a gap of 18 years, Thiruvalla would again be the host for the annual cultural event.

Thiruvalla, one of the busiest towns in Kerala is all set to receive the young talents representing various colleges for the biggest annual fest organized by the Mahatma Gandhi University Union. Its after a gap of 18 years, Thiruvalla would again be the host for the annual cultural event which would be a real festive moment also for the people living in the cultural capital of Pathanamtitta. The 5 day youth festival from February 29 to March 4 organised under the auspicious of the Mahatma Gandhi University Union titled as 'Sargodayam-2012' will see spectacular cultural contests in music, dance, literature and arts to be held at various venues in the town.

A grand reception committee headed by Mr Mathew T. Thomas, MLA (Chairman), R. Manu (General Convener), Mr Prakashbabu (Publicity Committee Chairman), Prof Rajashekharan Pillai(Programme Committee Chairman) and Prof. A.K. Sreekumar(Souvenir Committee Chairman) is running on full swing to make this event a big success. The cultural event will be held at 6 venues.

Sarghodaya 2012
Prior to the 'Sargodayam-2012', the organising committee is all set to launch a proclamation rally from February 22 to 25 covering all colleges, panchayats and municipalities in the district to spread the news about the Youth festival. The proclamation rally will get heart felt receptions at different colleges. On 22nd February 2012, the rally will be flagged off by Mr Raju Abraham, MLA at Ranni Carmel Engineering College which will conclude at Catholicate College in Pathanamthtitta. On 23rd, the rally will start from Padayani village at Kadammanitta while it will be concluded at Nazreth College of Pharmacy at Othera. On 24th February Ms Lynda Thomas Vanchippalam, Municipal Chairperson of Thiruvalla will flag off the rally starting from Mar Thoma College which will conclude at Devaswom Board Pampa College, Parumala. On 26th, the rally will begin from Kadapra and end at Kunnamthanam.

The inauguration ceremony of the cultural event will begin at 4.30 on 29th February at the municipal ground marking the beginning of the five day festival of the youth.
