The movie revolves around the two characters Alex IAS and Bharath Chandran IPS which is being played by Mammootty and Suresh Gopi respectively.
Director Shaji Kailas the captain of thrillers like 'Commissioner' and 'The King' plucks the lead characters Joseph Alex Thevally parambil and Bharath Chandran and blended them together in the movie 'The King and The Commissioner' to give a real taste for the healthy fans who were eagerly waiting for the heroes perform before their eyes. Being the most anticipated malayalam movie of 2012, the crew of the movie 'The King and The Commissioner' did had the pressure behind the screen.
Even after 16 years, the movies 'The King' and the 'Commissioner' aired on Television do keep the same heat pumping into the nerves. So do still Joseph Alex Thevally parambil and Bharath Chandran the two characters created by Ranji Panikar stays in the hearts of millions of audience. Both characters were moulded to represent 'truth' which fought against injustice and evil acts.
Shaji Kailas and Renji Duo is back with The King and the Commissioner' bringing Mammootty and Suresh Gopi to do the lead roles of Alex IAS and Bharath Chandran IPS respectively.
The King & The Commissioner Story
Major Rana a Pakistan supporter tries to upset the social harmony of the nation using stratagem to kill the Prime Minister (Mohan Agashe). For this act Rana do get support from a police officer Shankar (Devan) and Veerabhadra Maharaaj(Saikumar) an evil Godman. Padmabhushan Dr. Sudharshan (Nedumudi Venu) who works with the Indian Intelligence unveils the conspiracy planned by Rana and his men. But Dr. Sudharshan got murdered. Home minister G K (Janardhanan), call upon Joseph Alex IAS (now works in New Delhi) to find clues of the murder mystery. Later Bharath Chandran I P S too joins the way to find solution to the death of Dr. Sudharshan and his assistant. Even though back to back dialogues, action scenes and presentations of the Mammootty and Suresh Gopi do clinch viewers back to their seat, the movie limps on its own feet because of various reasons. In various occasions several dialogues did give a flash back to their originals. The fight scenes at the boxing ring really took back the pace of the movie. Even though there was no song in the movie, the viewers had to suffer with the pathetic background score.
The movie lengthy of 3.2 hours did loose its pace some where in between the run.
Both the lead actors Mammootty and Suresh Gopi had done 100% justice to their roles rendering smashing dialogues which really enthralled the audience.
Mammootty is back with the same mettle and stylish looks while Suresh Gopi keeps the natural pace of action and words on go. Saikumar as eveil Godman and Biju Pappan do need some praise for their performance so do KPAC Lalitha. Shaji Kailas as a director and Ranji Panikar as the script writer needs to be appreciated for their little effort to bring the two heroes back to the screen.
The movie may satisfy those who used to and wish to participate in elocution contests. The long run of the movie is depended upon the publicity which can bring mass to the theatre.

Job oriented 
I think Shaji Kailas done one more worst job as he do these days. I am not happy with the movie, the story which does not content any kind of suspense and all knows the villain and everything but still he scroll the movie to show the heroism of both actors as some unwanted fighting and some stupid ideas to create some more Sean in film. The people now a days does not like to watch fighting actually the stupid fighting.......unnecessary fighting. Shaji Kailas Still lives in the past or in with the fight club of RAJINIKANT.
And next the movie tries to teach all the Indians to speak Malayalam and even the Pakistanis has to learn Malayalam to hear what is India.
And some bad words that can be tolerated. And the cameraman has to in a stand, poor chap I think Mr Shaji Kailas made him to climb on trees and to stand under the foot and in between legs.
Do nOt see the movie its overall a WASTE.....
