Hero is an upcoming Malayalam movie from the director Deephan. The emerging superstar Prithviraj has done the title role with new face Yami Gautam. The film mainly handles the story of a film inside the film. G.P. Vijayakumar produced this film under the banner seven arts international (PVT) limited. Bala, Sreekanth, Anoop Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Tahalivasal Vijay, KPAC Lalitha are the supporting cast in the movie.
Hero is the second film of director Deephan and Prithviraj duo. Their former movie Puthiyamugham was a grand box office hit. After two years gap Deephan is back with an movie with Pritviraj. Deepan assured that the film will be a 100% entertainer for the audience. Vinod Guruvayoor has penned the screenplay for Hero. Vinod has life experience of many years in films. He worked with the famous director Lohithadas. Vinod gets the story of Hero from the set of Joker before many years. In that film some of the action sequence played by Nishand Sagar is originally done by a dupe. He was much impressed with the actions of that dupe and that experience lead to development of the story. 
Deepan fully uses the physical structure or gym body of Prithviraj for the film hero. Prithviraj is one of the actors who maintain the body structure well in Malayalam film industry. Tamil actor Sreekanth has also been a part in this film. This is the second Malayalam film done by Sreekanth. Youth icons Anoop Menon and Through the film Hero Deepan present a new face actress in to Malayalam film, Yami Gautam. She is much popular in through TV channels of South India. She had done an advertisement with Prithviraj in Kalyan Silks which gave an entry for this Panjabi beauty into the movie hero. Hero Malayalam Movie Story
The film hero tells the story of a film inside the film. Prithviraj had done the title role of Tarson Antony, who works as stunt man or dupe for the films. Tarson Antony was the rowdy in a street and joined films as an assistant of the fight master. After some work he refuses that job and again enters into his normal life. Some incident after that leads him again to do the role of a dupe for the film. Tarson Antony is the brave man and ready to do any risky activity. Gouri Menon is the leading actress in South India; the directors are following to get a date from her for their film. She was attracted by the heroism and action sequence done by the dupe Tarson Antony for the hero Premanand. She was really impressed with Tarson and falls in love with him. The actor Premanand didn't like this and he make problems against this. He was much jealousy against the dupe. But for the beauty queen Gouri, Tarson Antony was the real hero. Through these backgrounds the film Hero leads. Yami Goutam plays the character Gouri Menon, while Tamil actor Sreekanth doin the role Premanand.
Shooting of the film hero mainly carried out in Kochi and the Ramoji international film city Hyderabad. The film provides more importance for the action sequence and the director uses the physique of the actor Prithviraj well for the action sequence. Shooting of the film is almost completed and likely to release on the second week of the May 2012. The releasing will make a clash with Usthad hotel by the director Anwar Rasheed. This will provide a competition between the sons of old heroes. Let's hope both of them get box office hit.
