Street light is an upcoming Malayalam movie directed by debutant V. R. Shankar based on his novel Oru Pennum Parayathath. V. R. Shankar is making his debutant as a movie director even though he had worked as a sounded director in mini screen in the format of short films and television serials. The director himself has penned the script and screen play of the upcoming movie street light. Aparna Nair has done the central character in the movie Street Light while Irshad, Maya Viswanath, Sunitha, Baby Navani Devanand, Sunitha, Professor Aliyar, Krishna, Praveen Prem, Harisree Yousaf, Rajkumar, and Krishnan Balakrishnan have given life for other major characters. Kaithapram Viswanathan has tuned the music for the lyrics penned by Shine Kuryan, Pavumba Manoj, and Shankar. Yeshudas, Madhu Balakrishnan, Anu Kadammanitta, Jinsha K Nanu have enlightened the songs by giving sound. Aneeshlal has been handling cinematography of the forthcoming Malayalam movie streetlight. R. K. Kurup has produced the movie Street Light under the banner Ridge event and media private limited.

The lead role of the movie has been handled by emerging actress Aparna Nair. She has has debuted in malayalam through Lohithadas movie Nivedyam and also have done some notable role in the movies like Cocktail, beautiful and Mallu Singh etc. Aparna Nair has got the most powerful character in her career for the first time through the movie Street light. In this movie she has represented as a lady who was exploited by the society.

The film has portrayed the life of Hima in epoch of 18, 22, 28, 32, 38 ages. Hima, a girl who loves the bud of jasmine has lost her life from the sexually assault of her cruel father. The society has looked her in a bad manner and also in eagle's eye which search the prey. She has disclosed from her house and reached in a street. She has traveled in various stages of life and lived as street harlot for exist in the world. At last she has reached in servitude of AIDS. Through the movie Street Light, the director has been seeking ways to lead the wrong travelled lady into good path. The film brings a slut father in front of audience who make his daughter sexually assaulted for his lust. The film Street Light has been pointing out the shabby culture of the current society. The film should be a remembrance for the people who just make long breath after reading such news in paper.
