Ardhanareeswaran will be showing a new face of the born actor Jayasurya and will prove to be a milestone in his career path. The character will indeed be a challenging one for actor Jayasurya, but with his flexible acting he will surely make it a mega hit. The film Ardhanareeswaran will be a special and different one apart from other usual films. Usually actor Dileep used to take such risky characters like Chandupotte and Mayamohini and both proved to be super-hit movies. Now it is the chance for actor Jayasurya to show his skills. Jayasurya's upcoming Malayalam movie Ardhanareeswaran is a fantasy adventure film. In this film the 33 year old actor Jayasurya deals with transgender-ism. The film directed by Ratheesh Ravi pictures the life of Hijada communicates in India. Jayasurya is in the main role named Mathews/Sandhya. The other actors in the film are Anoop Menon, Rima Kallingal and Lena. Along with that around 300 Hijadas are included in this film. The film emphasis on the various rituals prominent among the Hijada communities in India.

The movie is produced by Anand Kumar under the banner of YES Cinema Company. The film was a dream project of Anoop Menon who always wished to do a movie based on transgender-ism. The script is written by Anoop Menon himself. The film was under planning for three years and now it is all set to play. The shooting locations of the film was Bangalore, Hampi, Shimoga, Varanasi, Mysore and Bellari. Director Ratheesh Ravi claims that the film will feature many action sequences that has never been seen in South Indian cinema. News revealed that the prominent actor Jayasurya will be performing his own stunts. Initially the Tamil actor Vikram was chosen for the lead role of Mathews/Sandhya, but due to some date clashes he had to leave the film. After seeing the best performance of Jayasurya in the film Cocktail, the director decided to choose Jayasurya to play the role of Mathews/Sandhya. Anoop Menon plays a supporting role of a film director in the film and Rima Kallingal plays the female lead. Shooting will be starting in the beginning of September 2012.

Ardhanareeswaran malayalam movie story

The movie begins with a boy named Mathew's who was born as a boy but was brought up as a girl. When he grows up he turns girlish, the mannerism of a girl get deflected into his character. He turns out to be a comedy character in his village. The villagers makes fun of him, girls laugh at his character and boys disturbs him and some others ignores him. The film focuses on the situations faced by the victim. The film throws light on the point of view of the boy. One day Mathews decides to leave the village and finally he reaches a place where a group of Hijadas live. He finds many people who are like him and decides to live in that place. He changes his name to Sandhya.

After reaching the Hijada community and changing to a female look he decides to follow a senior Hijada named Hemakka. He considers Hemakka as his guru and tries to follow her. The movie takes a twist when Sandhya starts loving Niran ghosh. Sandhya falls in love with Niran Ghosh and start feeling for him. Sandhya understands that he can only make Niran Ghosh to love him back is by changing completely to a true woman.
