Anwar Rasheed along with Dulquer Salman and Nithya Menon has reached the hearts of the Audience with an all new flavoured film 'Ustad Hotel'. The film has got all the flavours of a commercial film. It's the simplicity of the film that makes it different from other movies. Ustad Hotel mainly tells the story of the close relationship between a grandfather and his grandson who were expert in cooking and having a famous hotel. The film is set up in the premises of Calicut. The film can be categorized as a film composed of true and eternal love, warm relationships with well written scripts and blessed with with good actors.

In simple words, we can say that Ustad Hotel is the composition of the mixed emotions such as pure love, a warm relationship between a grandfather and his grandson, little pain etc. Here, the legend actor Thilakan plays the role of the grandfather. Thilakan took up the role of Kareem, an owner of a well known hotel called "usthad hotel". Kareem is having a grandson called Faisy. The role of Faisy is done by the emerging actor Dulquer Salman who is actually the son of Mammootty. Both of them maintains a warm relationship between each each other. As the story progresses, the audience can actually see the emotional bonding between both of them and some little surprises happens in their life. The film has got a good good love story of Kareem. Usthad hotel is a beach side restaurant. The hotel is famous for the special Biriyani that they serves for over than 40 years. Nithya menon plays the role of Fahana, a muslim girl who has got all the attires of a teenager. Fahana is the best friend of Faisi. Siddique is appearing in the role of Faisi's father. Maamukoya, Lena and Bhagath have contributed well for the film. Asif ali and Jishnu is making guest appearance in the film.

Review of the movie Ustad Hotel

Actually, I went to the theatre expecting the usual flavours of an Anwar Rasheed film. But the film is entirely different from it. The writer who wrote the script for the film Manjadikkuru is the real women behind the film. The script is penned down in such a way that the characters stood close to the heart. Dulquer makes a statement to the audience of Malayalam film that they can expect him in much more film in different roles. He is having a huge inborn talent as an actor. There is a chemistry between thilakan, Dulquer and Nithya menon in most of the scenes. The role of Kareemka is one of the best roles taken by Thilakan after the huge success of the film 'Indian Rupee.

The main attraction of the film is the song 'Appangalembaadum' sung by the most famous rock band of Calicut called as 'Kallumakkaaya'. The song has already reached the hit list of the audience. The background score and the songs by gopi sunder is upto the mark. Technically, the film is a good one with all commercial elements. There are a few drawbacks for this film. The first half of the film is good. But second half is really dragging. Some casting for the film cannot be justified. There were a few mistakes that can be avoidable.

When compared with the films that were released these days, this film stood a bit higher than the other films.
