What is K-TET? K-TET refers to the Teacher eligibility test that is conducted, in order to get hold of qualified staffs, to handle the lower primary, upper primary and high school students towards success. Primary, high school life staffs plays an important role in molding the character of students, so Kerala government is concentrating more on preferring the best staffs for this post. Actually, this exam is conducted by Pareeksha Bhavan, on behalf of Kerala Government. For current year, this examination will occur on 25th august.
How to apply for K-TET exam? Go to http://www.keralapareekshabhavan.in/ link, to obtain the online registration form. Online registration for this exam has been started from 18th July, 2012. 2012 K-TET Online registration will work until 3PM of 2nd august, 2012. Hard copy of online registration should be submitted to following address Secretary to the Commissioner, for Government Examinations, Pareeksha Bhavan, Thiruvananathapuram-12, on or before 6th august, 2012 before 5PM. Candidates can start downloading their admit card from 16/08/2012. Exam fees should be paid only through the banks approved by Pareeksha Bhavan.
Fees structure of K-TET: General candidates – Rs.500 SC/ST/Disabled people – Rs.250
How K-TET exam will occur and eligibility criteria? K-TET exam will occur under three categories. If candidates would like to apply for all three categories, they should mention it on the application. Since exam for all three categories occur on same day, candidates, who applied on all three categories should be cautious about the exam timings.
Category I - Lower Primary (I to V classes
Eligibility criteria: • Minimum 45% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary along with successful completion of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (in accordance with 2002 regulation of NCTE). Or • Minimum 50% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary along with successful completion of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
Category II - Upper Primary (VI to VIII classes)
Eligibility criteria: • Minimum 50% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary and 4-year B.A. / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed. Or • Minimum 50% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary and successful completion of Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) (four years) Or • Minimum 45% of marks in B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com with successful completion of one year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) (in accordance with the NCTE). Or • Successful completion of B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com and two year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Trained Teachers' Certificate (TTC)
Category III - High School
Eligibility criteria: • Minimum 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc/B.com and Successful Completion of one year Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.), in concerned subject. Or • Minimum 45% marks in B.A/B.Sc/B.com and Successful Completion of one year Bachelor Degree in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with time to time regulations in NCTE. Or • Minimum 50% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary and successful completion of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.). Or • Minimum 50% marks in Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary and successful completion of 4-year B.A. / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed
Note: • SC/ST and disabled candidates can enjoy relaxation of 5% marks to be qualified, to apply for this exam. • OBC and OEC candidates can enjoy relaxation of 3% marks for category II and III and 2% marks for category I. • Exams will occur in all 23 districts of Kerala.
Exam Timetable of Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (K-TET) 2012
For K-TET I category Date of Test : 25.08.2012 Level: Teachers for Lower Primary Timing & Duration : 09:30 am to 11:00 am 1½ hrs
For K-TET II category Date of Test : 25.08.2012 Level: Teachers for Upper Primary Timing & Duration : 12:00 pm to 1.30 pm 1½ hrs
For K-TET III category Date of Test : 25.08.2012 Level: Teachers for High Schools Timing & Duration : 03:00 pm to 04:30 pm 1½ hrs
Pay scale: Category I - 14,000/- Category II - Rs. 15,000/ Category –III - Rs. 17,000/
