Normally, most of you struck in a doubt when you heard about science train. Science train is nothing but a train which comes to Kerala as parts of its journey in various parts of India by announcing the importance of environmental and biodiversity protection. It is an Indo German collaborative project of unique science exhibition on a train which travel across India. The main intention of this journey is to give awareness to people about the protection of biodiversity of our earth. It is a mandatory thing that we have to protect our environment as well as biodiversity from harmful hazards to give the earth to our future generation. It is the obligation of current generation to maintain our nature as it is. Anyhow, due to improper science and industrial development has made lot of hazards to our nature. If these processes are continued, it will result in the decay of our earth.
The science train will reach Kerala on 24th August at Kochi and remains there for one day and move to Kozhikode and reach there on 25th August 2012. The science train had covered distance of about 68000 km during its awareness journey. In this journey the train had conducted 830 days of exhibition on about 230 centers and which was give opportunity to more than 6500000 of people from various parts of our country to see the mobile science exhibition. The Science train exhibition in Kozhikode is scheduled to conduct on August 25 to August 28 2012. The exhibition will be in open state between mornings 10 am to evening 5 pm. There is no need of taking platform ticket to enter the mobile exhibition. Who organize the science train exhibition
‘Science Express - Biodiversity Special' (SEBS) is a concept mobile exhibition fabricated on a specially designed 16 coach AC train, traveling across India from 5 June to 22 December 2012. Science express exhibition is the fifth phase of the iconic and path-breaking Science Express. The SEBS is an unique collaborative initiative of Department of Science & Technology (DST) and Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India join with German ministry. In Kozhikkod exhibition, District government, educational department, Dharshana cultural forum, Kerala forest and environment protection forum, Regional science centre and planetarium, Malabar botanical gardens have associate to conduct such a wonderful mind washing mobile exhibition. The train has consists of 16 AC coach, in which eight will be give priority for biodiversity and four will be explaining climatic change and desert formation etc. The train has provided opportunity for students to conduct experiments and research on this awesome mobile train exhibition. The Joy of Science (JOS) Lab has been arranged by Vikram A Sarabhai Community Science Centre (VASCSC) in the 13th coach of the Science Express. It is an area where participants will get a chance to conduct hands-on activities and experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and Mathematics. The six workstations in the labs are constructed with more than 50 interesting experiments and activities for various age groups. These activities include exciting bases from their school curriculum too.
