Agasthyakoodam is the highest peak in the state of Kerala and stands at about 1890 meters above sea level.


About Agasthyakoodam ranges


Agasthyakoodam Peak is a part of the Sahayadri Ranges of the Western Ghats. This is a famouse destination for the Buddhist as well as the Hindu Devotees as Bodhisattya Avalokiteswara and Sage Agasthya form part of the legends connected to hills.

Medicinal Herbs cultivation


Agasthya Koodam is also known for the rich and rare medicinal herbs, plants and various hued orchids. In 1992 23 kilometers of the hills was established as the Agasthya vanam Biological Park, where in, the intention was to use it for the education purposes as well as to restore the garden to its usual glory.

Best time to visit Agasthyakoodam


The season and the best time to visit can be anytime but trekking up the hills is permitted only from December to April. The length of the trail is about 28 kilometers and takes about 2 days to complete the trek. You will have to contact the office of the Wildlife Warden , Thiruvananthapuram at the Phone number 0471 - 2368607

How to Reach Agasthyakoodam


You can reach Thiruvananthpura either by flight, rail or road from the nearby cities and towns. International flights are also available from Colombo, Mali, Dubai, Abudhabi and Kuwait.
Thiruvananthapuram Railway station is well connected to all the towns and cities in India.
You can get Bus services to and from all parts of Kerala to Thiruvananthpuram. You can also get / hire tourist vehicles, cabs, autos as well as bus to reach Agasthya Koodam from the city.
