Cruelty against child labourer
Reports of cruelty against child labourers are increasing. The latest is the one reported from Aluva. Dhanalakshmi (11 years) was killed due to cruel actions of the house owners, the other day. She was sold to these people by a person, claimed to be her uncle. The owners of the house (an Advocate and his wife) tortured this girl in all possible manner. Her presence in the house was not even known to the neighbourers. She was from Tamil Nadu.When she was admitted to the hospital she had more than fifty cuttings on her body and several burnings also. She (an eleven year old) weighed just 20 kg. which indicated that she was not allowed to eat. Sexual abuse was also reported.
These type of sales of young girls from other States for household works have become very common and certain groups are working behind this, according to reports.
