Endosulfan will be phased out over 11 years

    Hello members,

The latest news about Endosulfan is that the Govt. will phase it out over a period of 11 years. Is that really wise? Endosulfan has caused so much grief & pain that it ought to be banned right away. What exactly is going to be achieved by phasing it out? Haven't people suffered enough?

What about those in Kerala who have been affected by Endosulfan? What steps is the Govt. going to take for their treatment and healthcare? Why is there a deafening silence about this aspect?

Why should this serious issue take 11 years to sort out?? again, this is going to be in the papers and causing the people to suffer.

It is difficult to understand the meaning of the statements coming from officials. No one is sincere to what they say. This issue of endosulfan has been in the news for more than two decades. the victims photos and related news appear in different media. All the ministers and other officials are seeing these. Still no action to ban this has come up, though some banning of areal spraying was there (an ineffective one).
Thus even if they say it will be banned immediately, in effect it will take years. So, don't give much weight to these statements.

There is nothing difficult to understand from the statement of government. It is very clear that our government cares only mafias not citizens of the nation.
