    Mentality of youth inkerala

In youth 60% are well educated eventhough they are optimistic and take lot of time for making a decision.Their confidence level are below average and are in need of training in every field.Once they get trained , they are not able to express it because of poor communication skills. They hide the reality inside , and get tenced after the things happened in their life.

This is, to a large extent, due to the education pattern. Student centred education only can improve the ability of students. Teachers should be only guiding them.

Now the education is more or less coaching for education. The subject matter is given in the form of pills. Students just swallow them (get by heart) and vomit in the examination hall. Because of the large quantity of topics to be studied they get less time for social activities. Teachers who are more concerned about the result of the institution do not prefer activities other than studying.

I agree with the author and the above comments on education. Like all other systems of our country, education is also devised by the Britishers to serve their national and administrative purposes.

After independence, we followed, furthered and improved further the same system without changing the core or base. What is done by the successive governments is only some cosmetic changes to create an illusion that there is change in the educational system. The system is like a factory producing items from raw materials, producing persons to fit the administrative aspect, from the students who enter the institutions for education.

What is required is a system to provoke the individual student to think and arrive at his conclusions and learn with of course the guidance of the qualified teachers/professors with the knowledge also to take care of the administrative needs of the country.
