Governor R.S. Gavai resigns today;New Govenor M. O.H Farook's oath tomorrow

Kerala Governor Mr. R. s. Gavai resigns today. He will leave Rajbhavan by 1pm. Then he goes to his birthplace Maharashtra by airplane. Mr Gavai was the 16th Governor of Kerala; took his charge in 10th July 2008. Before that he was the governor of Bihar for 2 years.

As our new Governor senior Congress leader Mr. M.O.H. Farook takes his oath tomorrow and takes in charge as Kerala Governor. He is the 17th Governor of our state. Tomorrow at Rajbhavan Kerala High Court Chief Justice Mr. Jasti Chelameswar administers the oath to our new Governor.

Mr Farook became the governor of Jharkhand in 2010. Earlier he has served thrice as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Pondicherry. He was thrice elected from Pondicherry to the Lok Sabha. He has served as the Union Minister fir Civil Aviation and Tourism during 1991-92. He has also served as the member of the Central Hajj Committee. In 2004 he was appointed as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Mr. Farook was born at Karaikal in Pondicherry on Sep 6, 1937.
