Is the Malayalam Cinema on a revival ?

Since the beginning of the millenium there has been a loud cry that Malayalam cinema is in deep waters and there are not good films not happening. But now it seems a little bit changed. A transition has been seen in the last two or three years. Better scripts are coming, new energetic, passionate and technically cognizant filmmakers came to the mainstream. We have seen the birth of a lot of good films like T D Dasan, Apoorvaragam, Athma Katha, Cocktail, Traffic, Pranchiyettan and the Saint, Kuttysrank, Melvilasom, Urumi, Adaminte Makan Abu, Salt N Pepper, Chappa Kurishu, Makaramanju, Veetilekulla Vazhi and Indian Rupee. Eventhough some of them failed to shine at box office, the audience recieved most of them with both hands. Is this a sign of revival of our cinema ? Filmmakers as well as the audience have started accepting that change. What is your takes on it ?

Malayalam filim industry is a now union problem .ban the actors directers etc. That is not good the industry. make a good filim not loss money the producer .thats all.

Once, the film makers only wanted to do the box office friendly films filled with vulgar comedy, action, item numbers and all. It doesn't mean, they are not needed, but should be in the right proportions. If a film does not have a proper story and only has these tricks, it can't make any sense. Even if those kinds of formulae will shine first, eventually it will taste the bitterness.

Clearly our Malayalam Cinema is getting transformation. Many variety scripts are coming and becoming hits without superstars. Its a good time for malayalam cinema.

Malayalam Cinema is on Great revival. There are exellencent directors and superstars in malayalam film industry but dont have a good thought to make malayalamm cinema to such a great venture. The main fault in film industry is there are lots of cinema are created without any cultural values.

Our Malayalam films are now becoming good. Now there are many new good actors, script writers, directors etc. Recently we have seen a lot of good films like salt n pepper, traffic, cocktail, chappa kurishu, 22 female Kottayam etc. So Malayalam film is on the right track now.
And in my opinion this stardom must be stopped.
