Is the increase in crime rate in Kerala due to less / lack of punishment? Discuss

    Hi Friends

The crime rate in Kerala state, our God's own country is increasing daily. Different news related to this topic are daily seen in newspapers. Parents killing children, children killing parents for wealth, husband killing wife etc are some among them. What may be the reason for this increased crime rate in our state? Is it the lack of punishment or less punishment? Who can prevent those people from getting into crimes? Give your opinions.

    Regards

The problem can only solved by developing moral values in society. When a child born he/she is the part of society. He/ She should know about the humanity and moral values. Life is more precious than any other wealth. That must be teaching first by Parents and teachers. Now wealth is more important than parents or relatives or even others life. That mentality is to be changed; all crimes and immorality will changed from then on-wards.

This is a complex subject, I think. Actually our problem is not the lack of laws but the implementation of it. What if the governing persons are not interested or ready though the laws are very strong ? An other view is that the punishments need not reduce the crime rates. It seems that most of our crimes are carried out by the persons who got punished before or by the first time doers. Though the punishments are supposed to reform the convicts, it seem to be ineffective. Quoting Samuel Powell " Bad habits can't be corrected by forbidding or punishment. " I think this is something the people should think themselves.
