The ubrupt hike in the bus fare in kerala creates difficulty for the travellers.

The bus charge had tremendously increased from 3rd August onwards. The minimum fare of the ordinary bus had changed from Rs.4 to Rs.5. and in the case of Fast passenger it is changed from Rs.5 to Rs. 7. There is no much change for students concession fees. This hike had created a great mystery for the citizens. The government of Kerala should take a better decisions in controlling the hike in the bus charges. There is none to question the bus union. As the price of petrol and petroleum products increases the bus owner's union go for strike to increase the bus charge. Why to increase the bus charge as the buses are moving with diesel. This is to be very much taken in care by the ordinary people and necessary actions are to be made especially by the youths. For an ordinary person to travel for a short distance he must waste a five rupee note or a coin. Just before two years it was only Rs.3.
According to the transport minister V.S Shivakumar the hike was based on the report of justice Ramachandran Nair committee which was being appointed by the previous government for submitting the recomendation on the revised bus fare.

The central-state governments are equally responsible for this situation. The petroleum price hike due to the so called debts already pushes the people into financial troubles. The bus operators are looking for a reason to hike the fares. And they immediately start strike and the government bows to them. Thereby, the common people recieve an extra blow. Among the South Indian states, Kerala has the highest rate of bus-taxi charges. In Tamil Nadu, there's been no hike in bus charges, though how much change have been brought in the fuel prices. The journey is free for students there. In Kerala, the bus owners are trying to deny the every rights of students. It should be changed, the government should show that they have spine.
