Can a Harthal solve the Mullaperiyar issue ?
Yesterday it was Harthal of UDF and LDF in Idukki. Today, it is the turn of BJP. They are observing Harthal in five districts of Kerala regarding the Mullaperiyar issue. Protests are needed, there is no doubt in that. However, what can a Harthal in Kerala do in that ? Kerala is the affected state. In addition to that, observing a Harthal makes the things only worse. It won't open the eyes of Tamil Nadu or the Central government. I think we need strong but non-Harthal protests. With the participation of more people, the strike will be stronger. Let the Malayalees around the world unite for this cause.
