    Pathanapuram is one of the famous town in Kollam district and well known place in kerala. About 68km far from the Trivandrum and 37.2km far from the district city Kollam. For trade and transport like any other bussiness purpose the pathanapuram town is very well known. The main disadvantage of this town is this town is rich in human useful facilities like hospitals, schools. The traffic and police services are also available in this town. This town has also religious worship centres like church, temple,mosque. The bus and other transporting services are available in Pathanapuram everytime. The political as well as the social things are also Pathanapuram is strong. The former minister Balakrishna Pilla and the present Forests & Environment, Sports and Cinema minister Ganash Kumar are living in Pathanapuram. Ganash Kumar's key in political is Pathanapuram.

The schools like St Stephen, Al Ameen, Mount Tabor,St Mary etc are also a great success of this town on the basis of education. Al Ameen is only CBSE school in Pathanapuram has XI and XII and St Mary is a ICSE school and both St Stephen and Mount Tabor is a Kerala Syllabse school so this schools are the biggest success in this town. The Pathanapuram has also tutorial centres, internet cafe's, and all which was needed for the development of a town. The pathanapuram is also best in Agriculture and the most successfull key in Pathanapuram is the best town for trade and bussiness purposes.
