    A Malayalam Novel in the Man Booker shortlist.

    For the first time a literary work in Malayalam has entered in the shortlist for Man Asian Literary Prize. Among the fifteen authors in the list three are Indians specifically with Kerala roots. Writer -singer Jeet Thayil's 'Narcopolis', U.K. based half- Malayali Anjali Joseph's 'Another Country' and Baharain- based writer Benyamin's 'Goat Days' are the three appearing in the list.

    Of this Benyamin's 'Goat Days' is a translation of the Malayalam novel, 'Aadujeevitham' by him. It is for the first time that a novel originally published in Malayalam finds a place in Booker prize list.

    'Aadujeevitham' was first published in 2008 and was well accepted by Malayalam readers. Thousands copies were sold out and recently its 50th edition has come out. The novel depicts the real plights of Malayali workers in Gulf. The novel has been translated already into Tamil, English and Kannada. Hindi and Arabic renderings are about to come out.

    it was a good news. it was first time a literary work in Malayalam has entered in the shortlist for Man Asian Literary Prize and it was a good achievement for literary work in Malayalam.Malayalam literature have so many achievement but the novel like "Aadujeevitham" will be the first time that a novel originally published in Malayalam and finds a place in Booker prize list.
