Branches of Engineering

Engineering is the application of economic, scientific, social and practical knowledge in order to design, build, and maintain structures, machines, electrical instruments ,buildings . It is one of the toughest courses but easy to get a good job in private and public sectors . This articles provides the small information about two branches of engineering . so just go through it.

Civil Engineering

Civil engineering is one of the oldest engineering discipline focuses on the infrastructure which include water works , dams , highways , bridges, tunnels ,irrigation, canals, terminals, industrial plant buildings and skyscrapers . Civil engineering provides a solid background in mathematics and basic science applied towards the study and design of engineering systems . A civil engineer requires not only a high standard of engineering knowledge but also administrative skills . Civil engineers are responsible for planning and designing project . Their work involves site investigation , feasibility studies and creating solutions to solve the problems.

Construction work involves dealing with clients, architects, government officials, contractors . So a civil engineer needs to have a sharp, analytically and practical mind . Civil engineers can find job in government departments, private and public sector industries, research institutions . They can work as a supervisor of a construction site or a management position . After several years of experience, they can also work as independent consultants.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electrical and electronics engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism . It now covers a range of subtopics includes power ,electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunication . Electrical engineering may include electronics engineering , where distinction is made usually outside of the United States, electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associate with large scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small scale electronic system including computer and integrated circuits .

Electrical engineering covers traditional areas like generation, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as new age application in electronics ranging from telecommunications to computers and microprocessors . Electrical and electronic engineering students will get jobs in public as well as private sector dealing with design , manufacture , application of electronic devices , communication systems , computer hardware , software .
