Kochi Metro work progressing while ....
Much publicized Kochi Metro work is progressing relatively in a speedier way. It is appreciated by all that the KMRC is acting smartly and finding solutions to all complaints without delay. At the same time a group of people are there who have been running petty or moderate shops and hotels running on the sides of the Highway where the work is progressing.Sheet fencing throughout the location where work is in progress is actually dividing the road into two narrow roads with no way to cross except in limited positions, deny the access to customers the entry to the shops on the opposite side. This actually affect the sales of shops/hotels on both sides. Some smaller shops/hotels have already closed because of drop in sales. Many are facing the the problem of lesser sales during the past four or five months.
It is expected that the metro work will be over only by two more years. By that time if this situation continues many more shops will be closed or shifted from the main road.
