The programmes listed are actually being implemented or about to be implemented. However, just see the list, is there any that is directly benefiting the ordinary man.

Metro work will be completed and the train may start running between Aluva and Thrippunithura. How many of the commuters will benefit from this.

A good share commuters are coming to Ernakulam from Vypeen island,Fort Kochi, ,Mattanchery,Muvvattupuzha, Kothamangalam, Perumbavur, etc. Again, the collectorate and other Government offices are functioning at Kakkanad. Metro does not touch Kakkanad.
How many locals will benefit by Smart city project. Like this just try to analyse each project.

The benefits from the infrastructure projects will take time to reach common man.Eventhough, Metro rail service is planned for a small stretch, we can extend it to each towns of Kerala in stages. As the rail system is on an elevated track, problems with land acquisition are minimal compared with road development.
Keralites only can benefit from smart city project. Lot of job opportunities will be created so that the next generation will be thankful to us.
These projects are only stepping stones. We have to develop further from these projects. By analyzing each point we can see that there are tremendous growth potentials ultimately benefitting directly or indirectly to common man.

Any activity towards development, whether beneficial to all or only for a section has to be welcomed. Though some of the items mentioned by Sri Neeraj may be of use to a limited section like the Cochin Metro Rail, still these are to be welcomed. Firstly a number of person get employment in the projects. 2ndly though it may cover only a limited stretch at present still the worst bottleneck between Alwaye and Cochin can be eased to a great extent. The Metro can expand to other stretches in phased manner depending on the benefit to common man. In the present system of rule throughout the world, we cannot expect much benefits to the common man from any activities of any Government. It is meant for the industry and business people. However, a part of the developments become available to common man also as a by-product. So we have to support all developmental activities.
