"Liquor policy won't be changed" says Oommen Chandy

As per the liquor policy proposed by V.M. Sudheeran, many oppositions came into account. Oommen Chandy in a press meeting strongly declared that there won't be any change in the proposed liquor policy. This is imposed mainly to make the state completely out from addiction towards alcoholism. About 418 bars were not allowed to open due to poor infrastructure and exactly 292 bars will be closed by 12th September of this year. Only 20 five star hotels will be allocated to distribute liquor from 2nd October 2014. In addition to this all Sundays will be considered as dry day across the state to deprive the consumption rate. This law will be made practical for 10 years from now.
