Is it correct for POLICE to take action against indecently dressed Youngsters

Specially dedicated to the youths of Chavakad Kerala; Beware youths of your dress code, police are on your trail to book you if you wear indecent low-waist jeans and trousers in public places.Girls are extempted now.
In an attempt to curb the younger generations indecent dressing the local police here have been initiating action against those who wear their trousers below their waists, creating public nuisence.Police officer Shamsudin said as follows
"We are not against the younger generation's interest in fashion or their dress taste to make themselves look more attractive. Our aim is only to make them aware about the indecency of wearing low waist jeans exposing even their underwears".
Mr Shamsudin also said that it was a common scene infront of schools and colleges ,boys wearing low waist jeans which is causing lot of problems for girls and women there.

He said that while he was attending some religious function last month he noticed the trousers of youngsters visible outside, which prompted him to take a decision to make youngsters realise the negative aspect of such dress in public places.he said this was the main reason for him to take such action.

Is it right ....think about the type of tight dress the girls are wearing in the name of fashion, some young girls wear sarees so low that its so disgusting, according to our culture do you think the way of dressing of girls now a days is correct. When such a condition is becoming worse in our community do you think girls should be allowed to wear such dresses degrading our culture .Boys aslo are in the same way ,they just wear pants to show the JOCKEY or ADIDAS,PLAYBOY,CK innerwears,Should these fashion statements be allowed to degrade our culture which has already degraded a lot.

I think its good to check this menace. In the garb of fashions, young ones cannot take freedom for granted with indecent dresses. First its parent duty to send their wards with good dress sense, and if they fail, then the police can stoop to the action and take corrective measures in the interest of the decency.

Choosing one's own dress is every one's right. No doubt. But we are all living in a society which has its own norms regarding everything. These norms will be changing with time. however, certain discipline is expected from everybody. This is just for maintaining the peaceful atmosphere of the society and make sure that every individual live here peacefully.
Laws in a State is, very often, formulated based on the basic ideals present in the society, which are being practiced from time immemorial. These are formulated based on experiences.

Dress code is one concrete example. Human concepts about human body only created this dressing system. Old people might be remembering those days when women belonging to lower castes were not allowed to cover their breasts while visiting the landlords or upper caste people. It was after several struggles they got the right to move around as any other woman.

So maintaining a code of conduct ia always good in a society. It need not be as a result of compulsion.

Every one will have his own interests in dressings. One can wear anything when he is alone inside his room. Nobody is bothered about what he wear there or whether he wears anything or not. But in a society, one should give respect to other's wishes too. His dressings should be acceptable to others. In India public nudity is against the laws. But beyond the limit of these laws, there exits modesty and acceptability, which should also be considered. This is not a case which should be dealt with compulsion. Every one should be able to wear modest and acceptable dressings. Desire should come from one's mind, but not from compulsion.
But sadly, what we see in the modern world is really pathetic. Every one try for more exposure. Parents feel no problems in sending their children in such an awkward and vulgar dressings. It is really a dangerous condition. It can lead to many other connected problems. These parents will understand the problem only when their children faces 'such' situations.
At present there is no exception in these cases, even if oneself is boy or girl. Both boys and girls compete to wear awkward fashions. But it is more with girls. This is the dangerous case. Boys can do only with law waist clothings. But girls wearing very tight clothings is a usual scene in our cities. So if measures are taken to control boys, the same is necessary with girls too. But Clothing is not a matter to be controlled by compulsion. Every one should know the clothings suited to he/she according to the situation, modesty and social acceptance.
