Pookoot Lake is located at about half an hour's drive while you travel towards Kalpetta from Kozhikode.
How to Reach Pookoot Lake
You can reach Kozhikode international airport or the Railway station on your tour of Kerala / South India. From Calicut / Kozhikode you can get hired vehicles to reach the place.
You can also get to Calicut from other parts of Kerala and India through Rail and Road Transport.

Pookoot Lake has got a dream like serenity with plantation of meadows, palms and other trees all around makes it a heaven / refuge for the calm and silence seekibng travellers. This Pookoot Lake is located at about 3 kilometers south of Vythiri Resorts.

This Pookoot lake is located at about 13 kilometers from Kalpetta is a lovely tourist / picnic spot in the whole of wayanad area. You can go for boating in the lake and you will never forget it in your life time. The lake nestles in the midst of mountains with so many trees and pathways makes it an unforgettable destination in Kerala.
Sight seeing in and around the lake
There is a fresh water aquarium with a large variety of fish, managed by the fisheries department, is an added attraction of this lake. You can also find Children's Park, and a shopping centre for handicrafts and spices of wayanad have been arranged by the Tourism Promotion Council.
