How to prepare Kerala mathi fish fry?

Ingredients required for kerala mathi fry


1. Mathi: ½ kg
2. Dry red chilly powder: 25 g
3. Black pepper: 1 tsp
4. Ginger: 2 tsp(paste)
5. Garlic: 2tsp(paste)
6. Salt: (as required)
7. Oil: (for frying)
8. Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
9. Onion: 1(sliced)

Preparation methods for Kerala mathi fry


Step 1: Take all ingredients in separate plate.

Step 2: First of all, clean the fishes very neatly.

Step 3: Marinate each fish with red chilly powder, ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder, black pepper powder, water and keep the marinate aside for ½ an hour.

Step 4: Pour the oil in the pan.

Step 5: Heat oil in a pan and roast the fish till both the sides become dark brown colour.

Step 6: Now the mathi fish fry recipe is ready to serve.

Step 7: Decorate the fish with onion and serve it with rice.

Extra tip: When we use coconut oil for frying the fish becomes more crispy and tasty.
