This is a very tasty delicious dish loved by all peoples in and around Kerala. Fish is a healthy nutritional food, provide health and immunity power to the body. It can be prepared easily in the oven and save much time. There is a special taste when it is prepared in an oven. This is a crispy dish can be had with rice and no more dish is required if it is present in front of us.
1 Karimeen (large)- 1 no
2 Lime juice - 1 table spoon
3 turmeric powder - 1/4 table spoon
4 Salt - as per taste
5 Chopped small onion - 1/2 cup
6 Ginger - 1 table spoon
7 Chopped garlic - 1 table spoon
8 Chopped green chilly - 1 no
9 Chopped curry leaf - 2 no
10 Tomato - 1 no
11 Chilly powder - 1 table spoon
12 Turmeric powder - 1/2 table spoon
13Pepper powder - 1/2 table spoon
14 Garham masala - 1/2 table spoon
15 Lime juice - 1 table spoon
16 Coconut oil - 1 table spoon
17 Plantain leaf - 1 no
18 Salt - as per taste
How to prepare
Wash the karimeen well and made three or four scotches on its outer surface. Mix lime juice, salt, turmeric leaf and marinate it over the fish well. Pour some coconut oil in a bowl and heat it for 1 minute in high power. To heated oil add chopped ingredients such as small onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly and curry leaf, mix well and apply 3 minute in high power. Later add lime juice, salt, all other powders such as turmeric powder, chilly powder and pepper powder, mix well and apply 3 minute in high power.
Take the plantain leaf, spread some garham masala in it. Then place the fish on the leaf, spread the remaining masala over the fish and enfold it using the same leaf. Take a preheated microwave pan and place the enfolded fish on it, apply 6 minute in micro + grill program. Later turn over it and again apply 2 minute in same. The delicious karimeen pollichuth is now ready.
