Kakkayam is one of the beautiful gift to Malabar.It gives a stunning views with lush greenery. Although it provides a beautiful gift to the nature there, it is unnoticed.The place is located distance of 78 km from Kozhickode. Kakkayam also has a dam in the area, but the general area has been conserved by the Forest Police.Kariyathan para is a place near to Kakkayam and is known as a excellent shooting location. Kakkayam enjoys a dense forest with rare specious of animals and plants.Kakkayam offers a best place for trekking and hill climbing.

Kakkayam is known for it's beauty and fear. Kakkayam is at it's frightening form in the monsoon season. This is one of the main reason behind the less tourist attraction of Kakkayam. Kakkayam has got steep hills. These hills too make the tourists fear.
