Thekkadi is situated near the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, in Keral an it is just 5 kilometers away from the border town of Kumily. Speaking about the latitude and longitude of Thekkady, it is located 9° 15' and 9° 40' North (Latitude) and 76°55' and 77°25' East(Longitude). The boundaries of Thekkadi incudes, Madurai, Ramanad and Thirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu in the Northwest, Pathanamthitta District in the South and Pampa and Azhutha Rivers in the west. Thekkady comes under the district of Idukki and if you plan to visit the place the best time will be from the months between September to March. Situated at around 700-1900 M above sea level, Thekkady mainly experience tropical climate and the maximum temperature will be around 3o degrees centigrade, with the minimum being less than 10 degree centigrade. Since it is very near to Tamil Nadu, people in Thekkady will speak Tamil also apart from Malayalam and sine being a national Tourist spot English and Hindi is also common here.
