Kuruvadweep :
Kuruvadwep is a beautiful island, stretching for 950 acres on the banks of the Kabani River.Kuruvadweep is located 17 km from Mananthavady and is very close to Pakshipathalam,
Chembra Peak :
The highest peak in Wayanad,Chembra peak is at a height of 2100m above sea level. It is located 14 km west of Kalpetta.

Festivals in Pookot ;
Thirunelli Festival :This is a two day annual festival of Sree Thirunelli
Devaswom. This is held in April
Valliyoorkkavu Festival :the annual festival of Goddess Bhagavathy. This is
held in March.

Actually the tour to Pookot Lake does not require a stay. But a tour package to Wayanad district need stay.There are various hotels and resorts in and around Wayanad offer decent accommodation facilities. These modern hotels are equipped with all those facilities required for a perfect stay.

PRESENT DAY PROBLEMS
It sad to know that this serene beauty is a dying lake. Once this place was a spot for numerous species ,but now only few species can be spotted .Recent commercial activities including urbanization in this spot put a black mark on the heavenly land. There should necessary and sudden steps to prevent this decaying. Afforestation is the most needy thing that can be fulfilled only with the help of inmates of Vythiri Once numerous species existed; at present only few can be spotted.
