Significance of Kovalam Beach
Kovalam is famous for the coconut trees, backwater, mountain, and the scenic sunset. Tourists come here from all over the world to refresh, refill themselves with energy, to relax and to feel paradise on earth. The memories of the special area may make them happy through out their life.

This was a small village before its potential as a great tourist spot was detected. The credits for making this place a landmark to the tourist spots of this world goes to Maharaja of Travancore in 1930s.Most often this beach is called as 'the most beautiful beach in India'. It offers various facilities like swimming, sun bath, Avurvedic massage parlors etc to its visitors. The main beach is divided into several small beaches, among them three are famous. They Eves beach,Hawa beach and Light House Beach.The Light House beach is situated towards the south. Vizhinum mosque is situated near to the Light House beach. The Eves beach is situated towards the north. Tourist used to sun bath at here. The Hawa Beach lies in between the both beaches and it offers visitors to go for fishing with the native fishermen.

This zoo is situated nearby to the main road and contains various animals seen around Asia.
5) Shankumukam Beach
This beach is situated near by to the city, Trivandrum.

Shopping in Kovalam Beach
You can buy various handicraft item from Kovalam. The handicraft items include statues made out of teak, carpets, clothing etc. But beware of cheaters around there, they may charge much higher than the original rate. Better to shop items from big shops around the market and not from roadside vendors.

When to come to Kovalam Beach
Since it is a beach better not to come on monsoon seasons and better to come on summer seasons (March to May).

Location of Kovalam Beach
It is located very near to Trivandrum the capital city of Kerala, only 15kms. Kovalam can be reached within an hour from Trivandrum.

How to reach Kovalam Beach
By Air: Near by airport is Trivandrum International Airport.
By Rail: Only an hour ride from Trivandrum (Tampanoor) Railway Station.
By Road: Many bus services and other taxies are available in Trivandrum to Kovalam.
