Uraad Dal Vada (Uzhunnu vada)-Kerala style recipe

Ingredients for Uzhunnu vada

Uraad Dal (Uzhunnu) - 1 cup

Chena dal (Kadalapparippu) - 1/4 cup

Salt - to taste

Green chilly chopped - 2

Curry leaves chopped - 5 leaves

Ginger chopped - 1 piece(2 cm length)

Onion chopped - ¼ piece of one onion

Oil - for frying

Uzhunnu vada


Soak uraad dal and chena dal in water for five to six hours.

Grind them well to make a thick batter.

Add required salt.

Add chopped onion, green chilly, curry leaves and ginger. Stir the batter well.

Heat oil in a pan.

Take a small portion of batter by hand put in the hot oil in the shape of vada.

Fry the vada till colour turns to golden brown.

Kerala style uzhunnu vada is ready. Serve it with sambar and coconut
