V.S.Achuthanandan, also known as Comrade VS, was elected the 20th Chief Minister of Kerala after his party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) came to power in 2006. Perhaps it will be time for a change of parties and leaders at the helm.

In fact, the Congress party seems to have given a strong indication of their eagerness to reverse the trend and upseat the Left parties in Kerala by appointing 4 leaders from Kerala in the Cabinet re-shuffle recently. The names of Kerala Ministers in Cabinet reshuffle include:
* K. V. Thomas – Minister for food and consumer affairs

* K.C. Venugopal - Junior minister of state for energy & power

* Vayalar Ravi – Civil aviation Minister (in addition to existing portfolio of non-residents' welfare affairs)

* E. Ahamad – Minister of State for foreign affairs (did not get rank of Cabinet Minister)
