He was born in Kerala on October 16, 1985. As a cricketer Raiphi is right handed batsman and Right-arm medium fast bowler. One of the biggest opportunity which he got to build up his career is that he was selected to Border-Gavaskar scholarship. It was one of the greatest platform for his career development which he got in early eighteen.
Raiphi Vincent Gomez first class career starts against Vidarbha in Ranji Trophy Plate League for Kerala on November, 2006. But Raiphi does not do much with his bat in debut and ended up after scoring sixteen runs. But in 2007/08 season Raiphi shows that he has a bright future by scoring 108 runs against Tripura. In the same season Raiphi scores another hundred against Railways. Raiphi has scored 656 runs in 20 first class matches with an average of 21.16.
Raiphi Vincent Gomez List A debut was in 2004. Raiphi is an attacking batsman. Raiphi has scored 765 runs in 26 List A matches with a strike rate of 94.79. His strike rate shows how danger, Raiphi is. One of the memorable performance is against Tamil Nadu where he scores 105 in 139 balls. Gomez attacking playing become more famous against Hyderabad in Vijay Hazare Trophy on February 2010 where he takes 34 runs in a single over of Ravi Teja and came close to Herschelle Gibbs' record. He take five six and a four in that over. Raiphi ended up their by scoring 88 off 29 balls.
Even though he was in the team of Rajasthan Royals in 2009, Raiphi does not get a single match to play. But he has a good opportunity in Indi Commandos Kerala because their are less attacking players in Kochi team. Raiphi also gets offer from Kolkata but he prefer to play for home team. After signing Raiphi said that it is a very good opportunity for him to play with international talented players and he was extremely happy.
