Indian Coast Guard ( ICG ), an Armed Force of the Union, was established on 18th August 1978 under the Ministry of defense. Its head quarter is located in New Delhi. At present, 5440 employees are working under it. It also provides protection to fishermen and assistance to them at sea while in distress.The Indian Coast Guard invites applications for the post of Group 'A' Gazetted Officer in the pay scale for Assistant Commandant. The following are the details regarding the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2011.
1. Assistant Commandant General Duty
Age limit : 21 – 26 years of age
Qualification : candidate should be graduate with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a university recognised by the Central/ State Govt./UGC with Maths & Physics as subjects up to 12th Std of 10+2+3 scheme of education.

2. Assistant Commandant General Duty ( pilot / Navigator )
Age limit : 19 – 27 years
Qualification : Candidate should be graduate in science stream with Maths & Physics and 55% marks in aggregate.

Noida– 10th march 2011
3. Assistant Commandant (Commercial Pilot License) for Short Service Appointment)
Age limit : 19 – 27 years
Qualification : Candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in 12th standard and should possess current /valid Commercial Pilot license (CPL) on the date of selection.

4. Assistant Commandant General Duty(Women) for Short Service Appointment)
Age limit : 21 – 26 years
Qualification : candidate should be graduate with 60% marks in aggregate of a university recognised by the Central/ State Govt./UGC with Maths & Physics as subjects up to 12th Std of 10+2+3 scheme of education.

5. Assistant Commandant Technical (Mechanical & Aeronautical)
Age limit : 21 – 30 years
Qualification : Candidate should posses Degree with 60% marks in aggregate in Naval architecture / Mechanical/ Marine/Design/ Production /Aeronautical Engineering.
Date of registration for Mumbai Chennai & Kolkata : 2- 3rd March 2011
